
Several Gators to Compete at ITA Men's All-American Championships

Four University of Florida men's tennis players will begin play at the 2012 ITA Men's All-American Championships, hosted by the University of Tulsa at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. Mike Alford, Florent Diep and Billy Federhofer will compete in singles qualifying play beginning on Monday, Oct. 1, while Bob van Overbeek is entered into the main singles draw, scheduled to start Oct. 4.
Federhofer and van Overbeek are also schedule to compete in the main draw of the doubles competition.
Alford leads the team with a 7-1 record this fall and reached the quarterfinals of both the Bedford Cup and the 45th Annual Southern Intercollegiate. Diep has a 4-1 record and Van Overbeek has a 4-2 record this fall and both players reached the Round of 16 at the two fall tournaments that Florida has competed in so far. Federhofer lost two matches at the Southern Intercollegiate and missed the Bedford Cup with an injury.
