Schober Shares a Spot in First as Gators Finish Third in Day One of The Alamo

Matching a career low, shooting five-under (67), junior Sarah Schober led the No. 14 Gators women's golf team to a third-place finish after round one of The Alamo Invitational. Schober made an extraordinary nine birdies in the first 18 holes of play and shares the top spot on the individual leaderboard.
Two more Florida women shot under-par in round one of The Alamo: redshirt sophomore Katie Mitchell and junior Camilla Hedberg, finishing two-under (70) and one-under (71), respectively. Hedberg played the best round of her junior season thus far.
Freshman Karolina Vlckova started the day strong with four birdies in her first nine holes of play and finished day one even par (72). Freshman Maria Torres shot just one stroke over Vlckova, ending the first round at a manageable one-over (73).
Just two strokes from the lead, the Gators enter round two of The Alamo Invitational with the hopes and the talent to improve on the course.
