
W-Tennis Sophomore Brianna Morgan Competed in the U.S. Open Qualifying

University of Florida sophomore Brianna Morgan enjoyed outstanding summer success on the courts and was awarded one of a handful of wild cards to the qualifying draw for the 2013 U.S. Open.
Morgan played her opening-round match on Tuesday afternoon and dropped a 6-1, 7-6 (4) decision to Claire Feuerstein (FRA), who is currently ranked by the WTA No. 147 in the world.
Morgan currently is ranked a career-high No. 616 in the world.
SUMMER SUCCESS
· Morgan won $10K Bethany Beach ITF event in Delaware (June), defeating top-seeded and world No. 403 Jessica Moore, 7-6(3), 6-3 in the final; def. No. 465 Broke Austin, 6-3, 6-0 in SF
· Won three qualifying rounds to reach main draw of the Women's $50,000 Oregon Challenger in Portland and won two more to reach quarterfinals where she lost to No. 107 Alison Riske, 7-6 (7), 6-3; def. No. 164 Irina Falconi, 6-3, 6-2 in the round of 32
