
Seventeen UF Student-Athletes to Take Part in Summer Commencement

Summer graduation ceremonies take place on the University of Florida campus this weekend and 17 current and former Gator student-athletes will participate in commencement ceremonies. UF's summer commencement will take place Saturday morning in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
Six from the Florida football team and two from men's track & field receive degrees this weekend. Men's & women's basketball, women's golf, gymnastics, softball, men's & women's swimming, men's tennis and women's track & field will each see one student-athlete graduate this weekend.
Among the Gator graduates are three who were part of national championship teams while wearing the orange & blue. Joe Cohen, defensive tackle for the 2006 BCS Championship football team, returned to campus to complete his degree. Defensive end Duke Lemmens was a part of the 2008 BCS Championship team and was recently named a graduate assistant for the 2013 Gator football season. Randy Stageberg was a member of Florida's gymnastics team which claimed the program's first NCAA team title in 2013.
