
Men's Tennis in Action at ITA Men's All-American Championships

The Florida men's tennis team is in action at its second event of the fall season, participating in the 2013 Saint Francis ITA Men's All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. Action started on Saturday with the pre-qualifying rounds and continues Monday with qualifying singles.
The main draw of the event will begin on Thursday, October 3. Senior Stephane Piro has earned an automatic bid into the main singles draw.
Freshman Maxx Lipman and Elliott Orkin were in action over the weekend in pre-qualifying singles. After a bye in the first round, Lipman dropped his second round match to Nick Papac of Oklahoma 6-2, 6-3.
Orkin won his first round match against UC Irvine's Jonathan Hammel 6-1, 6-3. He then beat Penn State's Marc Collado Castells 6-2, 6-3 in the second round and Sam Swank from South Carolina in the third round, 6-4, 7-5. Orkin will play in the fourth round of pre-qualifying Monday.
Seniors Mike Alford and Florent Diep will begin play in the qualifying singles round on Monday along with sophomore Gordon Watson.
