Gators Improve Singles Play on Saturday at Illini Open in Fort Myers

The Florida men's tennis team improved their singles play on Saturday at the Illini Open in Fort Myers, winning six of seven singles matches. The Gators split their four doubles matches.
Elliott Orkin and Gordon Watson, the 13th ranked doubles pair, won again, and seniors Mike Alford and Stephane Piro teamed up for a win.
In singles, six of seven Gators won on Saturday. Maxx Lipman and Spencer Newman won for the second day in a row. Alford and Diego Hidalgo won three-set matches. Orkin and Florent Diep also picked up wins Saturday.
Action will continue on Sunday at 10 a.m. with more doubles play, followed by singles.
