
Gators No. 4 in Preseason Brine Media Poll

The University of Florida lacrosse team has been tabbed as No. 4 in the 2014 Brine Media Preseason Top 20 rankings, released by Inside Lacrosse on Monday.
The Orange and Blue received one first-place vote in the poll, which ranked North Carolina, Syracuse and Maryland ahead of the Gators. North Carolina tops the poll as the defending national champions, with runner-up Maryland ranking second and Syracuse, which played in the 2013 Final Four, followed at third.
The Gators are coming off their third-consecutive ALC regular-season championship as well as their third-straight NCAA Tournament appearance in the program's four-year history. Florida finished the season with an 18-3 record, including a 9-0 record at Donald R. Dizney Stadium.
Of the preseason Top 20, the Gators will face six in the 2014 season (No. 1 North Carolina, No. 3 Syracuse, No. 5 Northwestern, No. 7 Penn State, No. 10 Loyola and No. 14 Stony Brook). The 2014 slate kicks off on Feb. 8 at North Carolina at 12 p.m.
