Gators Resume Fall Action at Regionals

Following a break in their fall schedule, the Gators return to action in Athens, Georgia, at the USTA/ITA Southeast Regional Championships hosted by the University of Georgia Thursday, October 16 through Monday, October 20 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
The tournament features a field of 15 schools. There are 36 entries for the 32-player qualifying draw, which will be played Thursday. Four players have been designated as alternates if any spots open in qualifying play. The doubles draw consists of 43 entries. First round doubles will commence Thursday evening.
Jordan Belga, Richard Brej, and Oliver Landert kick off Regionals action for the Gators in the singles qualifying draw. Six Gators will compete in the singles main draw: Diego Hidalgo, No. 100 Maxx Lipman, No. 68 Elliott Orkin, Chase Perez-Blanco, Joshua Wardell and No. 70 Gordon Watson. Orkin and Watson are seeded No. 5 and No. 6 respectively, while Lipman is a 9-16 seed. Florida doubles pairings include No. 42-ranked and 5-8 seeded Hidalgo and Watson, Landert and Wardell, No. 39-ranked and 5-8 seeded Lipman and Orkin, and Belga and Brej.
