Florida Invitational Day 3

Gators Finish Fall Season With Florida Invite
Sunday, November 9, 2014 | Men's Tennis
The Gators concluded their fall schedule on a high note on the final day of the Florida Invitational Sunday at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex in Gainesville.
Florida completed another sweep of its doubles opponents, going 3-0 on Sunday morning.
Five of six Gators competing in the singles event defeated their opponents, with all five doing so in straight sets.
“I think it's been a really positive fall for us,” said assistant coach Mark Merklein. “I can see the work that we've done in practice, a lot of the foundation things we've worked on in practice, are showing in matches. Physically, we're stronger. Our doubles are coming along well. I'm very happy with the fall. From the mid-point to the finish has been really good.
“Looking ahead to preparing for the spring, physically, we'll pick it up and really attack that side more and work on our agility and speed,” Merklein continued. “We'll really continue to hone in on each guy's game and their specific plans and try to improve that.”
