GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The 2015 Florida track and field season is just around the corner, and the Gator track and field program -- which owns a combined six national championships -- will kick off the indoor season January 9-10 at the UAB Blazer Invitational in Birmingham.
As they always do, the Pepsi Florida Relays will highlight the upcoming schedule for the Orange and Blue, and will be held this year April 2-4 at Percy Beard Track on the University of Florida campus.
“Every year Pepsi Florida Relays is a great event, and it just keeps getting better,” Florida track and field head coach Mike Holloway said. “The talent that competes in Gainesville each spring, including our own Gator athletes, makes for an exciting weekend of competition that University of Florida, and track and field fans in general, can truly appreciate each year. This season is no exception and we hope to have a great crowd at Pressly Stadium come April.”
The 2015 edition of the Pepsi Florida Relays kicks off Thursday, April 2. Along with several high school track and field events, the college men's hammer throw will be contested at 5 p.m. on the first day of the event.
Prelims of the highly anticipated men's and women's 4x400-meter relay and the boys and girls 4x100-meter relay will take place Friday evening at Percy Beard Track. Finals of all relays will cap off the three-day Florida Relays Saturday evening.
