No. 16 Florida Climbs One Spot in Round Two of 2014 SunTrust Gator Women's Invitational

Florida's Camilla Hedberg led the way for the second-straight day of the 2014 SunTrust Gator Women's Invitational. The junior Gator golfer proved consistent on Mark Bostick Golf Course and finished the day a notable 1-over (70-71-141) totaling a tournament-leading nine birdies after round two.
Redshirt sophomore Katie Mitchell improved by a stellar 10 strokes in day two, carding a 72 (+2) and rolling off two birdies this afternoon. Competing as an individual for the Orange and Blue, freshman Karolina Vlckova remains in the top-5 individually, sitting at just 3-over heading into the final round.
As a team, UF climbed one spot to finish 10th (597). Kent State was the lone squad to shoot under-par in day two (279) and jumped the team leaderboard from eighth place to first. Marijosse Navarro of Texas A&M fired a 69 in the second round to even her tournament score (71-69-140) and claim the top spot individually.
Head Coach Emily Glaser Says: “The number was better today, but still not what we're capable of. The team played more solid and with more confidence than yesterday. Still, a lot of our mistakes are getting in our own way and you can't do that on a golf course that's playing very difficult or against a good field.”
“The goal remains the same for tomorrow: we need to go out there and take it one at a time and see if we can move up the leaderboard, which I think we can. I think we've saved a lot of good golf for the final round and it would be great for the team to end on a positive note as we move toward postseason. We're very talented; we just haven't had our best stuff this weekend.”
