
No. 1/2 Gators Host Tom Jones Memorial Invitational April 19

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- After a weekend free of competition following an exhilarating edition of the Pepsi Florida Relays April 3-5, the USTFCCCA No. 1 men's team and No. 2 women's squad will get back into action April 19 when the Orange and Blue play host to the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational at Percy Beard Track in Gainesville. A college and professionals-only invitational, the Tom Jones Memorial Invite begins at noon (ET) Saturday with the women's hammer throw and ends with the 4x400-meter relays slated for 8:05 p.m. at James G. Pressly Stadium.

THE GATORS ENTERING THE TOM JONES MEMORIAL INVITE
The Gators posted a number of SEC, collegiate and world-leading performances last time out at the 2014 Pepsi Florida Relays April 3-5, resulting in a number of different weekly accolades for the Gators last week, including USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week honors for Dedric Dukes April 6. A total of 15 Percy Beard Track and Pepsi Florida Relays records went down at the elite competition in Gainesville as the Gators welcomed high schools, colleges, universities and elite and Olympic athletes from around the world. So far this season, Florida holds the top marks in the league in 13 different events (m&w 200m, w400m, m800m, w5000m, m110H (tie), m&w 4x1 relays, m&w 4x4 relays, mLJ, mSP, wJT) and paces the country in seven of those events (m&w 200m, 800m, m&w 4x1, m 4x4 and mLJ).
