Thursday, May 22, 2014 | Women's Golf
The Florida women's golf team improved by a notable 13 strokes in round two of the 2014 NCAA Championship, yet remain in a tie for 16th on the leaderboard after two days at Tulsa Country Club.
After 36 holes, junior Sarah Schober highlights the Gators with solid rounds of 74-73 (+7). Schober rolled off a team-best six birdies today, totaling seven in the tournament so far.
UF junior Camilla Hedberg and senior Elcin Ulu both trimmed strokes off their scores after they carded a 76 in day one. The two Gators shot a 72 (+2) and 73 (+3), respectively, in the second round.
Seventh-ranked Oklahoma remains atop the team leaderboard at 15-over (575), three strokes ahead of No. 3 Duke.
Head Coach Emily Glaser Says: “The course was a little more scoreable today. The wind was down a bit, but still a factor for sure. We had a few holes on the front that cost us and kept it from being a really good day.
“Overall, I was happy with the way the girls fought, especially on the back nine. It seemed that we settled down on the back and were able to get in more of a rhythm. It was good to end positively and we will fight hard the next two days.”
