
Elizabeth Beisel and Brad deBorde Tabbed 2014 Capital One Academic All-Americans

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. -- Florida swimming seniors Elizabeth Beisel and Brad deBorde, both multiple-time All-Americans in the pool for the Gators, each added another accolade to their impressive Florida r?sum?s as 2014 Capital One First Team Academic All-Americans, announced Thursday.
The duo is no stranger to academic success, as both Beisel and deBorde were awarded NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships in May. Beisel, now a three-time Capital One Academic All-American from 2012-14, was additionally the 2013 Capital One Academic All-American of the Year and 2013 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year. deBorde, the 2014 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, made it back-to-back Academic All-America campaigns with Thursday's honor.
About Beisel
Beisel is a native of North Kingstown, R.I., and boasts a 3.76 G.P.A. while majoring in telecommunications. The 2013 Capital One Academic All-American of the Year is a two-time U.S. Olympian, winning a silver and a bronze in 2012 in London. She is an 18-time All-American and 20-time All-SEC selection. She has won two NCAA individual titles in her career and nine conference crowns. She was voted the SEC Women's Swimmer of the Year in 2012 and the Freshman Women's Swimmer of the Year in 2011. A three-time Capital One Academic All-America® at-large first team honoree, she is the recipient of the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship and 2013 SEC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
About deBorde
Boasting a 3.64 G.P.A. in industrial and systems engineering, deBorde is a 20-time All-American and 18-time All-SEC selection, while holding the school record in the 50 and 100 freestyle events. The SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year this year, the Longwood, Fla., native is a two-time conference champion in the 50 freestyle. As a senior, deBorde has earned a NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, served as the Student-Athlete Advisory Council President and as one of the 2013-14 team captains. deBorde has also been named to the College of Engineering Dean's List for four consecutive years.
