GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Gators cheerleaders. Albert. A birthday cake.
Oh, and Tim Tebow back on campus.
As far as debuts go, the launch of the SEC Network had a little of everything when the network went live to UF shortly after 6 p.m. on Thursday.
ESPN announcer Joe Tessitore and his partner -- “His name is Timmy” is the way Tessitore playfully introduced Tebow off camera to the dozens of fans packed into the lobby of the Heavener Football Complex -- spent the day at UF preparing for the network's launch.
To capture the scene, GatorZone.com photographer Tim Casey aimed his camera at the festivities and shot away.
While at UF, Tessitore and Tebow interviewed Gators gymnast Bridget Sloan, softball player Kirsti Merritt, took photos with fans, signed autographs, and once the network went live, birthday boy Tebow (he turned 27) interviewed Gators quarterback Jeff Driskel.
Tessitore and Tebow later caught up with Florida head coach Will Muschamp for an interview, capping a busy day in Tebow's return to his alma mater.
