
Gator Summer Highlights, NACAC U-23 & European Championships on the Horizon

With the 2014 NCAA Track & Field season behind the Orange and Blue, and the USA Outdoor Championships in the rear-view mirror for the Florida track and field program, several Gators have been in action this summer across the globe.
A look at several highlights of Gator competitors through the month of July and events on the horizon in August:
IAAF World Junior Championships (Eugene, Ore.) | July 22-27 | Hayward Field | FINAL RESULTS
· Gators rising sophomore Andres Arroyo competed for Puerto Rico at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Eugene. Arroyo finished 30th in the 800m (1:51.63), off his personal best from Florida Relays
2014 Commonwealth Games (Glasgow, Scotland) | July 23-August 3 | Hampden Park Stadium | FINAL RESULTS
· Former Gator distance All-American Genevieve LaCaze was Florida's highest finisher at the Commonwealth Games, as the Australian clocked a personal-best 9:37.04 in the 3000m steeplechase, good for fifth overall in finals of the event
· Former Gator hurdler Ugonna Ndu represented Nigeria in heats of the 100-meter hurdles, finishing fifth in her heat with a time of 13.35
· 2013-14 Gator senior and Second Team outdoor All-American Sean Obinwa also represented Nigeria in the 800m at the Commonwealth Games, finishing in 1:50.59, good for fifth place in his heat at the event
