
Max Garcia Named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week

University of Florida redshirt senior Max Garcia earned the Southeastern Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week honor for his performance in the Gators' 65-0 season-opening victory over Eastern Michigan, the league office announced Monday.
Garcia anchored an offensive line that tallied 655 total offensive yards and 25 first downs. The Norcross, Ga., native served as the core of an offense that averaged 7.6 yards per play. In his first career start at center, Garcia recorded three knockdowns and graded out at 97% assignment, 85% technique and 91% effort across 74 plays, according to UF coaches upon video review of Saturday's win.
Next up, the Gators return to The Swamp to take on Kentucky (2-0, 0-0 SEC) on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 7:30 p.m. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
