No. 1 Gators Ready for Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational in Lexington
Thursday, January 22, 2015 | Track and Field
LEXINGTON, Ky. -- After debuting the 2015 season at the UAB Blazer Invitational Jan. 9-10, the No. 1 Florida track and field programs will get back on the track this weekend at the Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational, one of the premier indoor competitions this season.
Hosted by the University of Kentucky, the Gators will face a top-25 saturated field at Nutter Field House in Lexington come Friday and Saturday. In addition to competing in the invitational, Florida will duel with both Kentucky and Sunshine State opponent Miami throughout the span of the meet.
Track and Field will also be featured this weekend on SEC Network+ through WatchESPN, as Saturday finals will stream live beginning at 12 p.m. (ET) through the conclusion of the final 4x400-meter relays.
Saturday will serve as a homecoming of sorts for transfer Julie Nunn, who completed her undergraduate degree as a Wildcat and began her master's at Florida this fall. A number of Gator newcomers will make their collegiate debuts, and several veterans will hit the track for the first time this season as well. Florida senior women's hurdler Bridgette Owens enters the competition with the fastest time in the world so far this season in the 60mH (8.10).
