
Florida Women’s Golf Set for Last Tournament of the Fall Season

The Gator women's golf team travels to San Antonio, Texas, for the Alamo Invitational hosted by UTSA, on Oct. 25-27, for its final tournament of the fall season.
The No. 19 Gators opened the 2015-16 season at the Cougar Classic, where sophomore Taylor Tomlinson fired a -6 (210) to take home co-medalist honors, while the team took fourth place (869). The Gators then posted a fifth-place finish (873) at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate, led by freshman Sam Wagner, who shot 3-under par (210) and placed third. The last time out, at the Windy City Collegiate, Tomlinson led the Gators once again, finishing tied for 19th at 1-under par (215), her second under par tournament of the season, while the team took home eighth (872).
Florida last competed at the Alamo Invitational in 2013, with a notable fourth-place finish, out of 15 teams and a -9 (855) total, which marked the third-lowest team tournament total in Gator history. The 2015 tournament also features 15 teams, including four teams from Golfweek's Top 25, led by SEC foe Arkansas (No. 6).
Course Information: The tournament is being held at the par-72, 6,450-yard Briggs Ranch Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas.
Format: 54-hole stroke play where teams will play three rounds, 18 holes each day.

Sunday Rd. 1 – 11:00 a.m.
Monday Rd. 2 – 8:30 a.m.
Tuesday Rd. 3 – 8:45 a.m. Shotgun Start
The Gators' Lineup:
Junior Maria Torres (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico): She will bring experience to the Briggs Ranch Golf Club, in the 2013 event she posted a 1-over par (217) and tied for 24th.
Freshman Sam Wagner (Windermere, Fla.): At just her second collegiate event, the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate, she posted a first-round score of -4 (67), which ties for the second-lowest individual round in Gator history.
Sophomore Taylor Tomlinson (Gainesville, Fla.): Owns the lowest scoring average on the team of 72.2, thanks to four under par rounds and two under par tournament totals.
Junior Karolina Vlckova (Unho?ť,Czech Republic): Vlckova also brings experience to San Antonio, the junior fired a +3 (219) total in the 2013 event, finishing T-32.
Junior Kelly Grassel (Chesterton, Ind.): Competed in the Gators' lineup for the first time this season at the Windy City Collegiate; she was a consistent scorer recording rounds of 74-73-73 and finishing T-41.
Individual- Junior Sydney Needham (Villa Rica, Ga.): A junior transfer from Samford, she will make her Orange and Blue debut competing as an individual.
Head Coach Emily Glaser Says: “This event will be a great way to finish the fall season. The team has come a long way in a short time period, both on and off the course. They are a talented bunch, but besides that, they are really starting to gain confidence in both each other and the team as a whole. My goal is that we demonstrate some of the toughness we've been working on this fall, and compete hard from start to finish.”
Preparing for the SEC:
At the Alamo Invitational, Florida will add LSU and Texas A&M to the list of SEC teams it has competed against this fall for a total of eight teams. It will be the second time the Gators will get to see No. 6 Arkansas; the Razorbacks took the team title at the season opening Cougar Classic tournament, where Florida placed fourth.
