Junior Maria Torres recorded back-to-back under par rounds to drop into a share of the individual lead with Arkansas' Regina Plasencia at 3-under par (141). Junior transfer Sydney Needham (competing as an individual) shot even (72) on Tuesday, and moved up to a tie for eighth at +1 (145).
Heading into Tuesday's third and final round, every member of the Orange and Blue is in the top-25, including junior Kelly Grassel and sophomore Taylor Tomlinson, who are tied for 20th at +4 (148) and freshman Sam Wagner, who is tied for 25th at 5-over (149).
Head Coach Emily Glaser:
Thoughts on the Gators' play in Round 2:
“We came out fighting, and I'm happy with the toughness we showed, especially towards the end of the round. Everyone, no matter if they were playing solid or struggling a bit, kept grinding, and that trait will serve us well now and down the road.”
On heading into final round with the lead:
“Tomorrow will be a fun day, and I'm excited for the team to be in this position.”
