Tuesday, October 6, 2015 | General
GAINESVILLE, Fla.—The University of Florida F Club and Gator Boosters, Inc., will honor the latest group of inductees into the UF Athletic Hall of Fame with the selection of the 2016 class. The eight-member class of Gator Greats will be honored at an induction banquet at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in the spring.
The 2016 class is filled with high-profile Gators, including three Olympic medalists -- Greg Burgess (Swimming), Kerron Clement (Track & Field) and Ryan Lochte (Swimming) -- and a pair of NBA Champions in David Lee and Mike Miller.
That doesn't even include Jane Collymore (Volleyball), a three-time All-American and two-time SEC Player of the Year. The 2016 class is rounded out with Jessica Lehnhoff (Tennis), an NCAA Champion, and Jeff Zimmerman (Football), a two-time First-Team All-American.
Each year, the F Club Committee selects members to the Hall of Fame, divided into three different categories: Gator Greats, Distinguished Letterwinners and Honorary Letterwinners. This year's class is composed solely of Gator Greats -- letterwinners who have brought recognition and prominence to the University and themselves by athletic accomplishments as a student-athlete.
Fans interested in attending can contact Kyle Rogers in the Gator Boosters, Inc., office at 352-375-4683, ext. 5000.
