Monday, November 16, 2015 | Men's Basketball
GAINESVILLE, Fla – The Gators welcomed two new members to the men's basketball program on Monday, with high school teammates Eric Hester and Dontay Bassett signing National Letters of Intent to play at Florida beginning in 2016. The duo comes to Gainesville from Oldsmar Christian, just outside of Tampa.
Hester, rated a four-star prospect by Rivals, point is a versatile and multi-positional player who brings great length and athleticism to the floor. The 6-foot-3, 175-pound Hester plays the game with energy and a motor.
Bassett, a 6-foot-8, 205-pound forward, is a skilled post player and a solid rebounder. Bassett brings plenty of upside to Gainesville, having started playing the game relatively recently.
Both players have been the recipients of great coaching at Oldsmar Christian and are excited to be joining the Gators, who play in their first home game of the Mike White Era tonight.
