BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Florida's Eleanna Christinaki has been named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
The Gator rookie from Athens, Greece, was UF's leading scorer in a pair of victories last week that included a road win at Wisconsin and a home victory against Robert Morris.

Highlights from Christinaki's Week:
- Christinaki converted 80 percent (12-15) of her shots from the floor during the week, including 2-of-3 three-point attempts, while hitting 8-of-11 free throws to average a team-leading 17.0 points.
- In addition to a career and game-high 21 points in the road win at Wisconsin, her five rebounds were a team-high.
- Christinaki hit 7-9 overall from the floor, including her only three-point attempt, as well as 6-8 free throws, and five rebounds and a steal.
- Her three-pointer toward the end of the first half at Wisconsin ignited a 28-9 run that helped UF take its first lead of the game in the third quarter and never looked back en route to the all-important road win.
- She shared team-high scoring honors with 13 points in the home win against Robert Morris, as she converted 5-6 from the floor.
- Christinaki was key in helping UF overcome a halftime deficit at Wisconsin.
- The nine consecutive victories is tied for the fourth longest in program history.
- This is UF's first nine-game win streak since the 2013-14 club (Nov. 30-Jan. 9) posted a 15-game run for the program's longest winning streak
- The Gators have won nine of their first 10 games for the only the eighth time in program history and the first time since starting the 2008-09 campaign with a 15-1 record
