The New Official Online Home of the Florida Gators
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The online home of the Florida Gators has a new look and a new name.
Goodbye GatorZone.com, a website Florida fans have visited millions of times since it launched in 1999. Hello FloridaGators.com, a modernized website to meet the needs of Gator fans whether they live on campus or halfway around the globe.
"We wanted a site that is more responsive and adaptable to mobile use,'' said Mike Hill, UF's executive associate athletics director for external affairs. "That was a primary focus, and in addition to that, we wanted to make it more user friendly, integrate more social media, more multi-media, and in an easier-to-use fashion.
"It's pretty intuitive in how you navigate around the site and find the information you want."
Here is a glance at some of the new features on FloridaGators.com:
The UAA's study led to the development of FloridaGators.com in conjunction with Frankel Media Group and SIDEARM Sports.
Frankel Media Group designed the website you will see on your computer screens and mobile devices once FloridaGators.com is launched.
"They did a tremendous job on the redesign of the site,'' Hill said.
In recent months GatorVision.tv, the online home of Florida Gators videos, has transitioned to Sidearm Sports' video player that you may have already noticed.
The ultimate goal was to create a new website that Gator fans will find easier to use and customizable to their specific interests.
"It has some customization features for the user which allows them to really highlight all the information they want to see on a consistent basis if they are more interested in certain sports than others,'' Hill said. "That customization is really a nice feature for our fans."
As with any new web site, there are bound to be bugs in the system. If you have feedback for us, please send to: websitefeedback@gators.ufl.edu
