Eastern Kentucky Outlasts Saint Francis, 88-82
The Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team scored a 88-82 decision over the Saint Francis University on Monday inside the Stephen C. O'Connell Center in Gainesville, Florida. Both teams were competing in Day Two consolation competition in the 25th annual Gator Holiday Classic.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team scored a 88-82 decision over the Saint Francis University on Monday inside the Stephen C. O'Connell Center in Gainesville, Florida. Both teams were competing in Day Two consolation competition in the 25th annual Gator Holiday Classic.
Led by Shameekia Murray's 22 first-half points, Eastern Kentucky held a slight advantage at the half, 44-42. The Colonels continued to outperform in the second, finishing the contest with a slight edge in total rebounds (38-29) and second chance points (14-10).
Saint Francis continued to answer in the second half, tying the game on five separate occasions with 12 lead changes but was unable to hold onto the final lead. The Red Flash were led offensively by Jessica Kovatch (22 points) and Aisha Brock (20 points).
Today's consolation match wraps up the Gator Holiday Classic for both Eastern Kentucky and Saint Francis.
