
Gators Set to Host Florida State on Saturday

Florida welcomes the Seminoles to the O'Connell Center at 2 p.m.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The University of Florida men's and women's swimming and diving teams return to the pool Saturday, January 2, at 2 p.m. ET when they host intra-state rival Florida State in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center in Gainesville, Florida. Diving events are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. ET with swimming events to begin at 2 p.m.

Looking Ahead
Following competition against Florida State, the Auburn men's and women's swimming and diving teams will join the Gators inside the Stephen C. O'Connell Center on Saturday, Jan. 23, at 11 a.m. ET. The meet will mark Florida's final home meet of the season. All UF seniors will be honored prior to the start of the meet.

The FSU men's team (4-2) comes to the O'Connell Center with wins over Minnesota, Queens, Florida Southern, and Indiana River State while the Seminole Women (5-4) posted wins over Queens, Florida Southern, West FLorida, FIU, and Indiana River State.
We Meet Again
The Gators last met up with the Seminoles on Jan. 4, 2015, when the Gators swept a pair of ranked Seminole opponents in Tallahassee, Fla.

The University of Florida's No. 4-ranked men's swimming & diving teams defeated No. 22 Florida State, 173-126. Meanwhile, UF's No. 7 women's squad down the 20th-ranked Seminoles, 185-115, on Saturday afternoon in Tallahassee, Fla.
Florida's men and women continued its great success over FSU, as the men now lead the Seminoles 54-23-1 and the Gator women lead Florida State 41-3 all-time.
Gator Men Ranked No. 4 | Women No. 11
The UF men are ranked fourth nationally while the Gator women rank 11th in the most recent College Swimming Coaches Association of America poll in the 2015-16 season. The Florida men have a point total of 888.5, and join SEC members Georgia (third), Auburn (seventh), Alabama (eighth), Missouri (12h), Tennessee (18th) and South Carolina (19th). The Gator women came in at No. 11 this week (835 points). UF joins SEC foes Georgia (second), Texas A&M (fourth), Tennessee (eighth), Auburn (ninth), Missouri (12th), Kentucky (15th), Arkansas (22nd) and Alabama (25th).
Leading the southeastern conference
Three members from the fourth-ranked University of Florida men's swimming and diving team and two relay quartets have combined to lead the Southeastern Conference in six separate events (short course yards). In addition, two of those Gator events also hold the fastest times in the country as of December 31.
New Faces to the Roster
The Gator men welcome nine true freshmen, two redshirt freshman who joined the program last year in January, and two transfers -- one from the University of Virginia, and one from the university of Michigan. On the women's end, Florida welcomes 10 true freshman to the 2015-16 roster.
WARNER NAMED SEC DIVER OF THE WEEK | 10/20
Senior diver Kahlia Warner was named SEC Diver of the Week on Oct. 20. It was Warner's fourth time receiving the recognition, and first of the 2015-16 season. The Queensland, Australia, native, gathered the honor following a two-day double dual against No. 6 Texas and No. 14 Indiana. After sweeping the 1 and 3 meter boards with Zone Standard scores of 293.25 and 324.10, the 2015 All-American took home a first-place finish off the platform on Saturday (259.58) -- marking her third Diving Standard on the weekend.
SMITH NAMED SEC DIVER OF THE WEEK | 10/13
Freshman Sam Smith was named the SEC Diver of the Week following an outstanding performance against Minnesota on Oct. 10. Smith posted a first-place mark against Minnesota over the weekend with an NCAA-qualifying standard score of 351.60 off the one-meter. Later off the three-meter, Smith added to his accomplishments with a second-place showing -- diving to a score of 392.70.
QUICK CAP at Buckeye Invite | Nov. 22
The University of Florida men's and women's swimming and diving teams ended the Buckeye Invitational on a high note Sunday night, sweeping the competition field for a pair of wins inside the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio. Throughout Day Three competition, the Gators accounted for 13 wins, 13 US Olympic Trial-qualifying times, three NCAA 'A' cuts, and 26 'B' cuts.
Swimming to the postseason
13 men and 12 women from the University of Florida swim team have combined for 75 NCAA 'B' cut times throughout the 2015-16 season.
Diving to the postseason
Four women and three men have combined for 18 NCAA diving provisional standards throughout the 2015-16 season.
