Florida Women’s Golf Remains in Fifth After Second Round of Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge

Amid challenging conditions, the Gators' women's golf team was consistent in Round 2 of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge on Monday. Florida followed up a Round 1 season-low score of 291 with a 298 to hold onto a share of fifth place in a talented field that features 10 of Golfweek's top-25 teams.
Gator freshman Taylor Tomlinson led the team for the second straight day. The Gainesville native scored two birdies on the day, but a double bogey on the 17th brought her Round 2 total to +2 (73), tying for 15th place overall. Sophomore Karolina Vlckova remains in the top-20, after shooting +3 (74). Senior Camilla Hedberg and sophomore Maria Torres matched each other for the second straight day with a +5 (76), and are tied for 25th.
Following the second round, Baylor (281-289—570) leads the field by nine strokes at the 6,017-yard Palos Verdes Golf Club. The Gators will close out the tournament on Tuesday for Round 3, when play on the par-71 course begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. PT.

On overcoming difficult conditions in Round 2:
“The golf course played very difficult today, but I thought we hung in there pretty well. There were certainly a few holes or shots we would like to have back, but overall they were pretty patient and that was the big test today with the wind blowing the way it was.”
