
National Powers Clashing in Florida's Season Opener on Saturday

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 4 Gators open their 2015 lacrosse season against the No. 2 North Carolina Tar Heels (1-0) at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow (Feb. 7) at Donald R. Dizney Stadium.
Saturday's showdown will be the sixth meeting all-time between the two perennial national powers and the first-ever visit to Gainesville by the Tar Heels. The gators are 1-4 all-time against North Carolina, but have split the last two contests.
After spending its first five seasons as a member of the American Lacrosse Conference (ALC), winning four regular-season and two tournament titles, UF begins its first year in the BIG EAST Conference.
In her sixth season at the helm of Florida, head coach Amanda O'Leary returns a wealth of talent in 2015, returning 10 starters, including 2014 national scoring champion and 2014 Tewaaraton Finalist Shannon Gilroy.
