Saturday, February 7, 2015 | Women's Golf
The Florida women's golf squad is set to take on the nation's top teams at the 2015 Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge, as the three-day tournament in Palos Verdes, Calif., features 10 of Golfweek's top-25 teams.
Florida senior Camilla Hedberg brings experience to the Gators' lineup and has had success at the Palos Verdes Golf Club in years past. As a freshman, Hedberg tied for 19th individually, scoring 223, and as a sophomore she cracked the top-10 by finishing eighth with a 219 total.
Head coach Emily Glaser's squad will look to improve on their performance at the Florida Challenge (Jan. 26), where they placed third 300-297—600, to open the spring season.
Course Information: The tournament is being held at the par-71, 6,017-yard Palos Verdes Golf Club, in Palos Verdes, Calif.
Format: 54-hole stroke play where teams will play three rounds, 18 holes each day.
Tee Times:
Sunday – 9:00 a.m.
Monday – TBA

The Gators' Lineup:
Senior Camilla Hedberg: After being sidelined by injury in the fall, Hedberg returned to the Gators' lineup for the Florida Challenge, where she used a season-best 73 in Round 2 to tie for third place.
Sophomore Karolina Vlckova: Vlckova boasts the teams' lowest scoring average, 73.7, after competing as an individual at the Florida Challenge, where she tied for third place with a 147 total.
Sophomore Maria Torres: At the past two tournaments, the Landfall Tradition and the Florida Challenge, Torres has found herself in the top-15. Torres will look to continue her success after shooting a 148 at the Florida Challenge to tie for fifth place.
Sophomore Kelly Grassel: A staple in the Gators' lineup in each competition this year, Grassel found her way into the top-five at the Florida Challenge by scoring 75-73 to tie for fifth.
Freshman Taylor Tomlinson: The freshman will be making her first cross-country road trip in Orange and Blue. Tomlinson leads the team in the number of even or under par rounds after shooting an even-par 72 in three fall tournaments.
Head Coach Emily Glaser Says: “This is a really great tournament. We get to see a lot of West Coast teams that we don't often get to see when we play on this side of the country. That's always a good challenge for us, those are the teams that you'll be seeing at the end of the year at Nationals. It's a fun event, one that's been going on a long time. I actually played at the event when I was in college, so it's fun to go back there and share with the team a little knowledge of playing the course.”
Best of the Best: The Gators will get the opportunity to compete against the nation's top teams, with five of the 16 teams ranked in the top-10, including No. 1 ranked Washington.
