
Florida Returns to SEC Action with Mississippi State

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No. 18 Florida opens a two-match Southeastern Conference weekend at home with No. 42 Mississippi State on Friday, March 13 at 5 p.m. at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex.
Florida leads the all-time series with Mississippi State, 33-17.
The Gators took on a mid-season nonconference challenge in hosting No. 8 Ohio State and fell to the Buckeyes, 4-1. UF saw improvement at No. 3 doubles in a win from Oliver Landert and Joshua Wardell, while Chase Perez-Blanco remains consistent at No. 5 singles as he picked up the lone singles victory for the home team. Perez-Blanco and junior Diego Hidalgo boast the best dual match singles record on the team at 7-1.
Last Time:
The Gators earned a 4-1 win over the Bulldogs in Starkville last season. Maxx Lipman and Elliott Orkin earned two of Florida's four singles points after the Orange and Blue dropped the doubles point.
Fast Start for the Freshman:
Freshman Chase Perez-Blanco has posted a singles point for the Gators in four of his last five outings. He is undefeated in conference singles and is tied with Diego Hidalgo for the best dual match singles record on the team (7-1).
