Florida took the 4-1 win over the Commodores to make it 52-10-1 in program history.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gators' Thursday action resulted in a 4-1 win over the Commodores. Florida extends their record to 13-10 and are 5-6 in the SEC.
The doubles pairings fought hard for the point, with courts two and three taking the wins for the Gators. Kevin Edengren and Andreas Timini returned to their usual result in doubles, earning the 6-2 win over Jack Satterfield and Hugo Conquelin of Vanderbilt. Courts one and two both went to a tiebreak, with court one going in favor of the Commodores and the Gators finalizing the 1-0 score with a 7-6 (7-4) win on court two by Adhithya Ganesan and Pablo Perez Ramos.
The Gators continued their momentum into singles, winning the first set on four courts. Jefferson was the first to add to the Gators lead on court four with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Nathan Cox. He was quickly followed by Edengren on court six who defeated Hwang Donghyun 6-2, 6-4, putting the Gators in position to clinch the match at 3-0. Ganesan fell in two sets to No. 79 Pablo Martinez Gomez, giving the Commodores their lone point of the match. Ramos finished the match for the Gators with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-1) win over Jake Satterfield on court five. With the clinch, Lorenzo Claverie on court two and Jeremy Jin on court three were left unfinished against their opponents.
