
Jefferson Clinches 4-2 Victory Over No. 18 Auburn, Sending Gators to SEC Tournament Quarterfinals

After starting play in the second round of the SEC Tournament, the Gators are headed to Quarterfinals after a 4-2 win over No. 18 Auburn.
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 19 Gators opened the SEC Tournament in the second round against No. 18 Auburn. The Gators took a 4-2 victory against the Tigers, sending them to the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament.
The Gators started the dual down after Auburn took the doubles point to begin the match. Pablo Perez Ramos and Adhithya Ganesan started the Gators strong with a quick 6-1 win over Alan Bojarski and Nicholas Heng on court two. However, Florida was not able to close out the point with a 6-4 loss from Henry Jefferson and Tanapatt Nirundorn on court one and a 7-5 loss from Kevin Edengren and Lorenzo Claverie on court three.
The fight continued into singles with four courts taking the first set. Edengren was the first to secure a point for the Gators, closing out a quick 6-3, 6-2 win on court six over Manel Lazaro. Claverie gave the Gators the lead with a 6-3, 7-6(7-1) win over No. 76 Billy Blaydes on court two. After starting down a set, Ramos fought his way back to a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory over Alan Bojarski. The tigers did manage to take one more point with a three-set win over Jeremy Jin on court three. In another come from behind win, Jefferson was able to clinch the match for the Gators with a 4-6, 6-4,7-6(7-2) win over Freddy Blaydes on court five.
