Florida Records Fourth Consecutive Shutout in 7-0 Sweep of Missouri
Sunday, March 15, 2015 | Women's Tennis
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Southeastern Conference wins keep rolling in for the Orange and Blue, as the No. 3 Florida Gators topped Missouri, 7-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Mizzou Tennis Center. The Gators have won eight straight matches and remain undefeated in SEC action.
UF earned the doubles point for the fourth time in the last five matches and set the tone for the match right from the get go. No. 22-ranked Josie Kuhlman and Peggy Porter have settled into the No. 3 doubles position, as they picked up their second conference victory in the three spot. No. 4-ranked Brooke Austin and Kourtney Keegan clinched the early tally for the Gators with an 8-3 victory over Missouri's top tandem, Brittany Lashway and Cassidy Spearman.
The Gators started slow in singles and fell behind in a few first sets, but ultimately proved to be too much for the Tigers and closed out all six singles matches in straight sets.
After a two-week hiatus, the Gators return to the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex on Friday, March 20 to host No. 16 Ole Miss at 5 p.m. in front of the Orange and Blue faithful.

Quotes from the Match
Thornqvist's Thoughts – Head Coach Roland Thornqvist
On controlling the pace of today's match…
We were fantastic in doubles. We played with great emotion and attacked right away. Missouri started out strong in singles, but once we settled down, I thought we extended the rallies in most of the singles matches, which helped turn the tide in our favor. We're really looking forward to playing at home next weekend.
