Friday, March 20, 2015 | Men's Tennis
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – In their first shutout win of the season, the No. 15 Florida Gators blanked the No. 56 Arkansas Razorbacks, 4-0, and captured their third-straight victory for the first time this year Friday afternoon in Fayetteville.
UF earned its third consecutive doubles point, as No. 2 pairing Diego Hidalgo and Gordon Watson clinched the early tally. Maxx Lipman and Elliott Orkin improved to 5-1 in SEC doubles with a 6-3 win on Court 1 to bring the Gators within one win of the 1-0 lead.
Watson got the Gators rolling in singles with a straight-set victory on Court 4. Shortly after, freshman Chase Perez-Blanco put Florida ahead, 3-0, with a win at the No. 5 position. In his season debut at the No. 2 singles position, sophomore No. 99-ranked Orkin fought back from a first set deficit to defeat Jovan Parlic, 7-5, 6-2, and clinch the road win for the Orange and Blue. It was Orkin's first match-deciding win of the season.
The Gators face their next SEC foe on the road, No. 13 Ole Miss, on Sunday, March 22 at 12 p.m. in Oxford, Miss.

Quotes from the Match
Shelton's Notes – Head Coach Bryan Shelton
On starting the weekend road trip with a victory…
I'm proud of our guys in today's win. We did a lot of things well today. I was very impressed with how Elliott [Orkin], Chase [Perez-Blanco] and Gordon [Watson] were able to finish when the pressure mounted. Those guys just stuck to their plan and executed. Oliver [Landert] and Josh [Wardell] did a tremendous job bringing great energy throughout both doubles and singles today. It was another team victory.
Florida vs. Arkansas:
Today's win boosted Florida's all-time series lead versus Arkansas to 26-2.
Big Impact Early:
Freshman Chase Perez-Blanco is making a big impact in his first year with the Florida Gators. The rookie was deservingly named SEC Freshman of the Week following his undefeated singles record last weekend. Perez-Blanco is unbeaten in SEC dual match singles and leads the Gators with a 10-1 dual singles record. He's recorded a singles point for Florida in six of his last seven outings.
Doubles Taking Shape:
Florida has won the doubles point in its last three outings. The doubles tally earned versus Mississippi State on March 13 was the first for the Gators since Feb. 28. Oliver Landert and Joshua Wardell have clinched two of the last three doubles decisions for Florida.
