
Florida Continues Action on the Road at Ole Miss

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 15 Florida Gators kicked off a two-match weekend with a victory on the road and look to continue Southeastern Conference success at No. 13 Ole Miss on Sunday, March 22 at 12 p.m. ET (11 a.m. CDT) in Oxford, Miss.
The Gators lead the all-time series with the Rebels, 35-21.
The Orange and Blue earned their third consecutive win on Friday afternoon with a 4-0 shutout victory over No. 56 Arkansas. Sophomore Elliott Orkin clinched his first match of the season for the Gators. UF earned the doubles tally for the third-straight match, clinched by No. 2 tandem Diego Hidalgo and Gordon Watson.
Last Time:
Earlier this season, a No. 13-ranked Florida team fell to No. 31 Ole Miss, 4-3, in the first round of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Gainesville. The Gators allowed a 3-0 lead to slip away, as the Rebels recorded four-straight singles victories to earn the win.
Big Impact Early:
Freshman Chase Perez-Blanco is making a big impact in his first year with the Florida Gators. The rookie was deservingly named SEC Freshman of the Week following his undefeated singles record last weekend. Perez-Blanco is unbeaten in SEC dual match singles and leads the Gators with a 10-1 dual singles record. He's recorded a singles point for Florida in six of his last seven outings.
Doubles Taking Shape:
Florida has won the doubles point in its last three outings. The doubles tally earned versus Mississippi State on March 13 was the first for the Gators since Feb. 28. Oliver Landert and Joshua Wardell have clinched two of the last three doubles decisions for Florida.
