No. 2 Gators Break Out the Shades at 2015 Nike Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas. -- Shades season is here. The Florida track and field program, ranked No. 2 in both USTFCCCA Preseason Top 25 outdoor polls, will grab sunscreen and sunglasses for the first major outdoor meet of the campaign this weekend at the heralded Nike Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin.
The 88th running of the Texas Relays is scheduled for March 25-28 at Mike A. Myers Stadium. The Orange and Blue will swing into action Thursday afternoon with athletes in both the men's and women's hammer (Jayla Bostic, Kyle Strawn) and the 400-meter hurdles (Gabriel Aird, Eric Futch).
Longhorn Network will have all the action covered, while Gator fans can follow along with the live results, too.
The 2014 Texas Relays were fun for the Orange and Blue, as Florida produced some of its top times in the outdoor season at Mike A. Myers Stadium. The Gators' men's 4x1 relay notched an American Collegiate Record, a new school record and ran what is now the fourth-best time in collegiate history (38.29) in the event. UF's women's squad also came away with the Texas Relays 4x1 title, while the men additionally took top honors in the thrilling 4x4.
UF will look for more of the same and stellar performances in the Lone Star State this weekend.
Coming off second (men) and fourth-place (women) finishes at the 2015 NCAA Indoor Championships March 13 and 14 in Fayetteville, the Gators eased into outdoor competition in the Sunshine State last Saturday by taking a trio women's throwers to the competition and the UCF Track and Soccer Complex March 21. A pair of freshmen in Lloydricia Cameron and Jontavia Dykes made their outdoor debuts for the Orange and Blue, while Bostic got her third outdoor season started in the hammer throw alongside Cameron and Dykes.

OUTDOOR SEASON SO FAR
· The Gators eased into competition in the Sunshine State Saturday by taking three women's throwers to the UCF Black and Gold Challenge in Orlando at the UCF Track and Soccer Complex March 21
· A pair of freshmen in Cameron and Dykes made their outdoor debuts for the Orange and Blue, while the veteran in Bostic got her third outdoor season started in the hammer throw alongside the freshman duo
· Cameron and Dykes shined in the discus throw with first (49.22m/161-5) and second-place (46.55m/152-8) finishes
· Bostic led the way in the hammer throw for Florida with a runner-up finish, using a 53.35m/175 effort, while Cameron finished fourth (50.16m/164-6), Dykes 14th (38.04m/124-9)
