Wednesday, April 15, 2015 | Women's Golf
The postseason has arrived for the 21st-ranked University of Florida women's golf team. With a two-week period since their last tournament, the Gators will begin competition at the SEC Championship on Friday in Birmingham, Ala., in hopes of claiming the ninth conference title in program history.
The Orange and Blue squad placed 10th last year at the Greystone Golf and Country Club, with sophomore Maria Torres leading the team, tying for fifth individually.
The last time Florida won the SEC championship was in 2008.
Course Information: Greystone Golf and Country Club is a par-72, 6,308-yard course.
Tournament Information: The tournament will run from Friday-Sunday, April 17-19, and is hosted by The Southeastern Conference.
Format: 54-hole stroke play where teams will play three rounds consisting of 18 holes each day.
Tee Times:

Saturday: 9 a.m. - Tee times
Sunday: 9 a.m. - Shotgun start
The Gators' Lineup:
Sophomore Karolina Vlckova: Owns the team's best season stroke average of 73.8 strokes per round. She has finished in the top-10 at the Gators' last three tournaments, including tying for fourth at the Bryan National Collegiate.
Sophomore Maria Torres: At the 2014 SEC Championship, Torres led the team by tying for fifth individually, recording rounds of 72-73-74 to earn SEC All-Freshman honors.
Senior Camilla Hedberg: Hedberg is averaging 75.1 strokes per round, including a season-best score of 69 which she scored in the final round of the Briar's Creek Invitational.
Senior Anna Young: After overcoming an injury, Young will be in the Gators' lineup for the second time this season. Although a senior, this will be her first time competing at the SEC Championship.
Freshman Taylor Tomlinson: Tomlinson will make her SEC Championship debut after a standout freshman campaign. She is the only Gator to compete at every tournament this season and has garnered six top-25 finishes.
Head Coach Emily Glaser Says: “The SEC is obviously a deep conference. The exciting thing for us is that there hasn't been one particular team that stands out, we've kind of all been beating each other up all year long. That's exciting for us, because I think anything is possible this week. I like the golf course, I think we can play well there, and with those things combined it should make for an exciting weekend.”
Stiff Competition: Eight of the 14 SEC women's golf teams are ranked in Golfweek's top-25 rankings, with four of those teams earning top-10 honors.
