
Gators Earn No. 1 Overall Seed in 2015 NCAA Tournament

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – For the 13th consecutive season, the University of Florida softball team will host an NCAA Regional at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium. The Southeastern Conference champion Gators earned the No. 1 national seed in the 2015 NCAA Tournament, marking the third time in the program history that UF has been seeded first (also: 2008, 2009). The Orange and Blue (50-6) will host squads from Florida A&M (18-37), Florida Atlantic (37-17-1) and Hofstra (37-12-1).
The Regional will run Friday thru Sunday in a double-elimination format. Florida's selection marks the 16th year overall that the Gators will host a regional, including all 10 seasons of Head Coach Tim Walton's UF tenure.
The winner of the Gainesville Regional will advance to a Super Regional against the winner of the South Bend Regional, which features No. 16 seed and host Notre Dame (40-13), in addition to Kentucky (29-24), Northwestern (28-21) and Ball State (33-23). The highest remaining seed will host the Super Regional.

Florida NCAA Regional Notes
· The Gators are 29-18 all-time in NCAA Regional play
o This includes a 24-6 mark since Walton's arrival before the 2006 season
· Florida is 59-32 in the NCAA Tournament
o UF holds a 54-20 record under its 10th-year head coach
· UF has not played any of its three Regional opponents this season
NCAA Gainesville Regional Ticket Information
· Members of the Gator Diamond Club can visit the Gator Ticket Office in person at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium or online beginning Monday at 8:30 a.m. ET to purchase ticket packages to the 2015 NCAA Gainesville Regional
· Tickets for the general public will be available at noon ET on Monday
· New for this season, fans can purchase tickets for reserved seats

· For fans picking up tickets on game day, the purchaser's picture ID is required to pick up tickets.
