Gators Qualify 36 Athletes for DI NCAA Outdoor East Preliminary

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee has announced the participants for the 2015 DI Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Preliminary Championships, slated for May 28-30 in Jacksonville (East) and Austin (West), respectively.
The No. 1 Florida men's program will send 19 athletes to the East Preliminary, hosted by the University of North Florida at Hodges Stadium, while the No. 7 Florida women qualified 17 athletes for the first round of the NCAA Championships. The two Gator squads have a combined 47 entries, 25 for the men and 22 on the women's side.
A total of 48 individual qualifiers and 24 relay teams from each region will compete at the East and West Preliminary Rounds. The 12 individuals and 12 teams from each relay event that advance out of both the East and West regions (Austin, Texas) will compete in the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 10-13 in Eugene, Ore. The official list of student-athletes, by event, who qualify from the preliminary championships competition will be announced Sunday, May 31. Start lists for the finals site in Eugene will be available Monday, June 8.
Two of Florida's six national championships, including five on the men's side, are outdoor national titles as the No. 1-ranked Florida men's squad struck with back-to-back outdoor titles in 2012 and 2013.

TrackTown Live from NCAA Championships
The USTFCCCA is once again partnering with TrackTown USA to produce TrackTown LIVE from the NCAA Championships. Two pre-meet, 90-minute live webcasts will feature interviews with coaches, athletes, and special guests from Historic Hayward Field. The event will be available on TrackTown USA's YouTube Channel and will simulcast online by the USTFCCCA. The event will go live on Monday, June 8 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. ET, and on Tuesday, June 9 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. ET.
