
Pair of Florida Golfers Collect Top-10 Honors at Pan-American Games

MARKHAM, Ont. – University of Florida sophomore men's golfer Alejandro Tosti and incoming freshman Jorge Garcia shot rounds of even-par 72 and 2-over 74, respectively, in final-round action at the 2015 Toronto Pan-American Games on Sunday to earn top-10 finishes.
Tosti wrapped up the tournament with a total of -4 (284) to place seventh, while Garcia recorded a 2-under 286 over the tournament's four rounds to finish tied for eighth.
Florida junior women's golfer Maria Torres posted a 4-over 76 in Round 4 at the Angus Glen Golf Club. Her total of 19-over 307 was good for a share of 16th place.
Tosti aided Argentina to place third, Garcia assisted Venezuela to a seventh-place showing and Torres contributed to Puerto Rico's 14th-place finish.
