No. 3 Florida completes opening round at Pauma Valley

Playing as an individual this week, Parker Sands had the low for UF with a 69 (-2) and is tied for 12th.
PAUMA VALLEY, Calif. - The No. 3 Florida men's golf team completed the opening round of the Pauma Valley Invitational on Monday and are tied for ninth-place.
In a highly ranked filed that features nine top-20 teams, the Gators shot first round of 285 (+1) and are tied with San Diego State in ninth place.
Playing as an individual this week, Parker Sands had the low for UF with a 69 (-2) and is tied for 12th. The sophomore had a bogey-free 3-under front nine with five birdies today.
A pair of Gators turned in 1-under 70s in Matthew Kress and Luke Poulter. Kress tied for the team-high 11th par or better round this season. Poulter, who returned after missing the last two tournaments, made five birdies. The pair are tied for 19th.
The final two counting scores were separated by a shot in Jack Turner (72, +1) and Zack Swanwick (73, +2) as they sit T38 and T49.
Making his debut in the lineup, Josh Bai had a 76 (+5).
