
Summer Update: Where Are The Gators?

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Gators women's tennis squad is coming off yet another winning year which included capturing the program's 28th SEC Championship and reaching the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. Yet, many of the Gators have hit the road this summer to get better by playing in tournaments all across the country.
Brooke Austin, Sophomore
- Currently competing in the FSP Gold River Women's Challenger in Sacramento, Ca. Austin has reached the quarterfinal round without dropping a set. Play continues this weekend.
- Reached the semifinal round without dropping a set in the Baton Rouge 50K but was defeated in the final round by Danielle Lao, 7-5, 6-3.
Kourtney Keegan, Sophomore
- In the Mr. Rogers Windows Charlotte Clay Classic, Keegan reached the semifinal round after defeating Kayla Day in the quarterfinals. Keegan lost to fellow-SEC player Lauren Herring, 6-1, 3-6, 6-0, in the semifinal round.
Josie Kuhlman, Sophomore
- Competing in the quarterfinal round of the Women's Hospital Classic in Evansville, Ind. this weekend. Kuhlman has not dropped a set in the tournament.
Belinda Woolcock, Junior
- Reached the final round of the Resortquest Pro Women's Open in doubles with Ellen Perez of Australia. The pair did not lose a set on the way to the finals, only to be defeated, 6-4, 6-1.
