
Gators Announce 2015-16 Schedule

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida men's tennis team will again face a myriad of tough opponents on the 2015-16 schedule, including last year's NCAA Champion Virginia, three-time defending SEC Champion Georgia and in-state rivals, Florida State.
Fall Fun
The Gators will commence the fall portion of their schedule in Napa Valley, California, at the Napa Valley Tournament from Sept. 25-27. UF will then travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the ITA All-American Tournament from Oct. 3-11. The Gators host one fall event from Oct. 16-19 when the USTA/ITA Regional Championships will be held at Ring Tennis Complex. From Oct. 23-26, the squad will compete in the SEC Fall Event in Auburn, Alabama. The Gators finish out the fall season in Flushing, New York at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships from Nov. 12-15.
On the Road Again
The Florida men's tennis squad will begin their season on the road for the first month of competition traveling to Austin, Texas, for the ITA Kick-Off Weekend from Jan. 22-24. The team then heads to the west coast for a competition-filled weekend against USC and UCLA on Jan. 29th and 30th. The Orange and Blue will have some time off until their next competition when they leave for Columbus, Ohio for dual match against Ohio State on Feb. 21.
Bringing in the Competition
The Gators finally return home on Feb. 27 to compete against in-state rival, Florida State. Ring Tennis Complex will be host to four teams that competed in the NCAA tournament last season: Florida State (Feb. 27), Ole Miss (March 20), Vanderbilt (April 1), Virginia (April 6). UF will close out the 2015-16 regular season with home matches against Kentucky and Tennessee.
Postseason Play
The SEC Tournament play beings Wednesday, April 20, in Columbia, South Carolina, with the final round being played on Sunday. The NCAA Team First and Second Rounds kick off on Saturday, May 13, across 16 campus sites. The 2016 national champion will be crowned on Tuesday, May 24, at the NCAA Final Four in Tulsa, Oklahoma. NCAA Individual Championships will commence the following day and continue through Sunday, May 28.
