Three Gators Advance to Final Qualifying Round in USA F3 Future

PLANTATION, Fla. - Three members of the No. 24-ranked University of Florida men's tennis team have advanced to the final qualifying round of the ITF USA F3 Futures Tournament. Alfredo Perez, Diego Hidalgo and Maxx Lipman continue play at the tournament on Monday morning in their respective final qualifying matches with an opportunity to advance to the main draw.
The Gators began their spring campaign with six straight-set match victories in the first round qualifying matches in Plantation. Sophomore Jordan Belga defeated his opponent without dropping a game. The second round of qualifying saw four Gators advance all again by straight-set wins. In the third round, Chase Perez-Blanco fell to Gozun in a three set match, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
The three remaining UF competitors will continue match play on Monday morning for a chance to compete in the main draw. With the dual match season one week away, the Orange and Blue will continue to train in Plantation for their upcoming doubleheader next Sunday, January 17 against Troy and Stetson.
