Both advance to the national ballot. Jordan & Middleton each appeared on the CoSIDA Academic All-America team in 2015.
GAINESVILLE, Florida –A pair of University of Florida seniors – Savannah Jordan and Betsy Middleton – make their second consecutive appearance on the CoSIDA Academic All-District IV Women's Soccer first team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced Thursday. Both now advance to the national ballot. The national team is announced November 22.
Both Gators also went on to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors in 2015, each appearing on the second team.
This season, Jordan leads the Southeastern Conference with 31 points and shares first with 13 goals. Both totals rank among the current NCAA Division I top eight. She is a two-time SEC Offensive Player of the Week (Week 1, Week 8) and has turned in four double-goal matches in 2016. Jordan is among the top three on Florida's career goals (78, No. 2) and points (182, No. 3) charts and is the NCAA active career leader for both. Jordan is one of 24 in NCAA Division I history to score 78 or more goals and one of seven to do it since 2000.
Middleton has appeared in 15 matches and registered assists on goals versus Iowa State and versus Alabama. She owns six goals as a Gator (transferred to Florida after playing at Miami as a freshman) and has played in all matches but three during her three-year Gator career. Middleton has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout academic career (grade school – college). She currently is involved in two research projects at UF - 1) relationship between impulsivity & food reinforcement for senior thesis and 2) working with graduate student for implementation and adoption of reusable bags,
