GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Five Gator soccer players finished their undergraduate degrees this fall and several were among the University of Florida graduates receiving their diplomas Saturday at the commencement ceremonies in the newly renovated Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
Meggie Dougherty Howard received her management degree in Saturday's afternoon commencement ceremony.
All five finished after the fall semester of their senior year. Here's some more highlights for the fall 2016 Gator soccer grads:
Members of 2013 and 2015 Southeastern Conference championship teams. Florida also won the 2015 and 2016 SEC Tournament titles.
Florida advanced to NCAA action each of the last four seasons, reaching the NCAA Round of 16 in 2015 and 2016 and the NCAA Quarterfinal in 2014.
The 2016 Gators' four-year record of 71-18-5 (0.781) stands fifth among the nation's programs
Two – Jordan and Dougherty Howard – were named National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Americans earlier this month. Jordan is the first Gator in the program's history to earn four NSCAA All-America honors.
Both Jordan and Dougherty Howard were named to the NSCAA Scholar All-America first team earlier this week. It was the second such honor for Jordan.
Middleton graduated summa cum laude as she maintained a 4.0 grade point average throughout her entire academic career and successfully defended her thesis with highest honors.
Also participating in Saturday's commencement was Kendall Graham (2009-10), who received her master's degree.
