Florida Places 13 on SEC Women’s Soccer Academic Honor Roll

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 4 University of Florida soccer team placed a league-record 13 student-athletes on the 1998 Southeastern Conference Women's Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced Wednesday. The 13 student-athletes betters the previous league record of 12 honorees that Florida placed on the list the last two seasons. Three other schools – Georgia, Mississippi State and Tennessee – also placed 13 student-athletes on the 1998 SEC Academic Honor Roll.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must: 1) have a 3.0 grade point average for either the past year or for her career; 2) be a sophomore or higher in academic classification; and 3) have 24 semester hours countable toward a degree.
The UF representatives on the 1998 SEC Academic Honor Roll are: seniors Erin Baxter, Michelle Harris, Kelly Maher, Adrianne Moreira, Lisa Olinyk, Lynn Pattishall, Melissa Pini, Katie Tullis, Tracy Ward, juniors Danielle Bass and Sarah Yohe, and sophomores Christy Brady and Andi Sellers.
The Gators open play in the SEC Tournament on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. (ET) against South Carolina. Florida enters the event as two-time defending tournament champion.
