GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida football team has accepted an invitation to play Big Ten representative Iowa in the Outback Bowl on Jan. 2, 2017, in Tampa. The game will be broadcast on ABC at 1 p.m.

Florida (8-4, 6-2 SEC) will be facing Iowa (8-4, 6-3 Big Ten) for the fourth time in school history, with all three matchups coming in postseason bowl games. The Gators defeated the Hawkeyes in the 1983 Gator Bowl, 14-6, and 2005 Outback Bowl, 31-24, while Iowa defeated UF in the 2003 Outback Bowl, 37-17.

Florida is making its 43rd bowl appearance all-time (21-21 overall record) and will be playing in a January bowl game for the 27th time. The Gators have played in the Outback Bowl four times with a 2-2 record in the previous games.

The Gator Ticket Office will begin taking ticket orders for the 2017 Outback Bowl on Monday, December 5, at 8:30 a.m. All season ticket holders can order online at FloridaGators.com/tickets, by visiting the Gator Ticket Office or by calling their order in.

The deadline for Gator Booster Loyalty seating is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6. Orders will still be accepted after this date, but will be filled out of priority order so fans are encouraged to buy tickets by the December 6 deadline. After the deadline, ticket sales will be opened to the general public starting on Wednesday, December 7 at noon.

There are no limits on the number of tickets ordered, however, only the first 16 seats of an order will be seated based on the priority point system. Any remaining tickets above 16, or tickets ordered after the deadline, will be seated outside of the priority point allocation.

There are three ways fans can purchase tickets:

1. The quickest and most efficient way to order tickets is by visiting FloridaGators.com/tickets and clicking on "Manage My Account."
2. Call 800-344-2867, ext. 6800 (Nationwide), Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and place an order with a Gator Ticket Office Specialist.
3. Come to the Gator Ticket Office and place an order with a Ticket Office Specialist. The Ticket Office is located on the west side of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, open Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

UF Students will have an opportunity to purchase bowl game tickets on Wednesday, December 7, at 6 p.m. Student tickets are $80 each. To purchase, students must visit FloridaGators.com/students. Students will be able to pick up tickets from the Gator Ticket Office beginning Monday, December 12, or they can have their tickets mailed to them.
