Florida was one of six programs to have at least seven players drafted this year
CHICAGO – Four former Gators were taken on the third and final day of the 2016 NFL Draft, with Antonio Morrison and Demarcus Robinson going in the fourth round, Kelvin Taylor coming off the board in the sixth, and Alex McCalister going in the seventh.
Morrison and Robinson were selected by the Indianapolis Colts and Kansas City Chiefs, who chose them with the 125th and 126th overall picks, respectively. Taylor was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers with the 211th overall pick. McCalister was taken by the Philadelphia Eagles at 240th overall.
The quartet joined defensive backs Vernon Hargreaves III (first round, 11th overall, Tampa Bay), Keanu Neal (first round, 17th overall, Atlanta), and Jonathan Bullard (third round, 72nd overall, Chicago) to total seven draft picks for UF.
The Gators were one of six teams in the country to have at least seven players drafted this year.
Morrison is the sixth UF linebacker taken in the last four NFL Drafts, joining Dante Fowler Jr. (first round, 3rd overall, 2015), Neiron Ball (fifth round, 161st overall, 2015), Ronald Powell (fifth round, 169th overall, 2014), Jon Bostic (second round, 50th overall, 2013), and Jelani Jenkins (fourth round, 104th overall, 2013).
"I like him on tape as a football player," ESPN's Todd McShay said following Indianapolis' pick. "Instinctive, really good with his eyes, quick, solid and a good tackler. He plays tough. Morrison is a good football player when he's on the field."
Robinson is the eighth Florida wide receiver drafted since 2006. At 126th overall, Robinson is the first Gator wideout since Percy Harvin went 22nd overall and Louis Murphy went 124th overall in the 2009 NFL Draft.
"He's a smooth athlete," McShay said after Kansas City's selection. "I talked to some scouts that thought he may be one of the top 10 talents at wide receiver. He'll be an interesting player to watch as we track him and his development."
Taylor is the fourth UF running back in the last five years to be drafted, though he's the first during that span to be picked lower than 164th overall.
"Great feet," ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. said after San Francisco made the pick. "When I watched him on tape, impressive … showed some burst. (He) shows you explosiveness, plays faster than he times, and I love the fact he can stop on a dime and make a cut."
McCalister's selection makes this the first draft since 2010 in which the Gators had a pair of defensive linemen chosen.

Gators 2016 NFL Draft Notes
Antonio Morrison – Indianapolis Colts, Fourth Round (No. 125 overall)
Morrison entered the NFL Draft upon the conclusion of a four-year career with the Gators. Despite a devastating knee injury in the Birmingham Bowl at the end of the 2014 campaign, Morrison did not miss a start and led the team in tackles (103) for a second straight year. The Bellwood, Ill. Native also became the first Gator to post consecutive 100-tackle seasons since 1992-93 (Ed Robinson). As a senior, Morrison was named a Butkus Award semifinalist and a unanimous first-team All-SEC selection.
Demarcus Robinson – Kansas City Chiefs, Fourth Round (No. 126 overall)
Robinson declared for the NFL Draft following his junior season with the Gators. The Fort Valley, Ga. native starred for the Gators in 2014, posting the best season by a UF receiver since 2009. That year, Robinson totaled 810 yards and seven touchdowns on 53 receptions in UF's 12 games. Most recently, Robinson played in 13 of 14 games as a junior this past season, amassing 522 yards and two touchdowns.
Kelvin Taylor – San Francisco 49ers, Sixth Round (No. 211 overall)
Taylor declared for the NFL Draft following his junior season with the Gators. The Belle Glade, Fla. native stepped into a starting role and became the ninth UF player to rush for over 1,000 yards in a single season this past year. Taylor's 259 carries in 2015 were the second-most in single-season school history, while his 13 rushing touchdowns were the third-most ever by a UF running back in a single season.
Alex McCalister – Philadelphia Eagles, Seventh Round (No. 240 overall)
McCalister declared for the NFL Draft after his redshirt season at UF. The Winston-Salem, N.C. product played in 27 games, making six starts. In his final two seasons, McCalister notched 18.5 tackles for loss and nine sacks.
