LSU scored an unearned run in the bottom of the fourth to regain the lead. Bryce Jordan led off with a single to third and Beau Jordan reached on a throwing error. Bryce Jordan came in to score on Greg Deichmann's single through the right side.
The Tigers blew the game open in the fifth inning with five runs on three hits. LSU took advantage of three walks and a hit batter in the inning and Deichman hit a three-run double to left center to give the home team a 7-1 lead.
Florida clawed back in the sixth with a pair of runs to cut into the deficit. Schwarz led off with a single then came home to score on Jonathan India's double. Nelson Maldonado followed with a RBI single up the middle to bring the score to 7-3.
